Egg-cellent News!
After several weeks off, our chickens have finally gotten back to work. I found two eggs in the nesting box yesterday and another one this morning.
I don’t know if the hiatus was a result of the trauma they suffered, their getting used to us and a new caretaking routine, or coincidental and normal. I have heard that hens go through periods where they don’t lay but I haven’t done much research on the matter.
Everyone says that fresh eggs taste quite a bit different and are far superior to what you can buy in the store but we haven’t eaten any yet so stay tuned…
